I remember you hiding in mom's blue tote1:34 PM Aug 17th from TweetDeck

scattered on your long fluffy tail - Oy Vey!1:50 PM Aug 17th from TweetDeck
I remember your giant leaps to high walls, You looked like a king who had it all! 9:38 AM Aug 18th from TweetDeck
When you hunted for prey, you'd crouch down, then wiggle, this funny move always made me giggle. 1:39 PM Aug 18th from TweetDeck
You scratched at your fleas with your agile hind feet, then meowed when you were hungry and wanted to eat.6:58 PM Aug 18th from TweetDeck
The nuzzles, the purrs and the "meeps" I understood...you were sharing your love for us treating you good.8:44 PM Aug 18th from TweetDeck
We let you outside to be wild and free, to explore the world and all her beauty 9:17 AM Aug 19th from TweetDeck
Then one night you went out to roam once more, in the morning I woke to greet you at the door11:26 AM Aug 19th You weren't in your place which wasn't like you,
nor were you perched on your wall with the view.3:28 PM Aug 19th
"Here kitty, kitty!" we yelled searching for weeks, posting signs with your picture on neighboring homes and boutiques.
@lisahanockjasie I know you never liked our big brown chow,
but please come home...we have much catnip now!
Shortly after, your food dish was gone, and your blue sandbox as well,
that's when the sadness instigated my tears and made my tired eyes swell.
@esewriter1 I never imagined how much losing you would hurt
@markiepostmand I'm even missing the hair balls coughed up on my shirt
Will I see you again, my soft furry friend? The boy up the street says that was the end.
Then one night I fall to sleep and picture you so clearly. I remember your face, whiskers and all and how I love you so dearly.
You're here! I can see you! You're playing near a running stream, watching fish and chasing butterflies, you'll live forever in my dreams.Aug. 21 at 5:00 on TwitterberryTHE END

The idea of the cat story came to me becuase our 13 year old cat never came back. It was difficult to explain to the kids. WIth this story I hope it help kids cope with the feelings of abandonment they feel when a pet is no longer there.
I love this story. We lost our cat a month ago and my children keep asking where he might be.
